Capital Seafood in Monterey Park is currently on a downhill slide... but that seems to be part of the cycle for dim sum places in SGV. I'm sure they'll be good again in a year or three, but our meal today was not impressive. Steamed lo bac guo was good, as was the tripe, but the rest was average at best. Service was excellent (shocking, especially at dim sum!), but the limited selection and difficulties in getting carts in the middle of our meal were serious negatives.
Board games at Christine's place after. Despite it being his first time playing Splendor, Stuart kicked the rest of our butts decisively during the last round. We also did Codenames for the first time, which was also a great four-person/two-team brain-stretching setup, but yet nice and straightforward. You play teams of agent and spymaster, trying to match clues and codenames before the other team does. Very well done!
Jeff's birthday that night at Celestino in Pasadena. Joycelyn demolished both a seafood salad and lamb chops, the rest of us went through more normal pasta dishes, and we all had a great time celebrating!
