Shabuya and North Italia
All-you-can-eat (AYCE) shabu-shabu with the Yang family at Shabuya, aka the old Tahoe Galbi location. Stick to the meats off the menu and the shrimp from the bar and you're in for a tasty time! Don't go too crazy with the fish balls tho, as those are very filling.
Family dinner at North Italia in El Segundo-- where Cousin Traci apparently makes all of the desserts! Aside from a bit of a long wait due to the crazy Saturday crowds, the Yee-Schmidt-Won-Yamashita-Sucy-Fong dinner was a great success-- full of tasty noms all around.
Some very thin prosciutto on the appetizer boards, scallops were pretty good, the squid ink pasta was a bit more spicy than expected, and the chicken parmesan looked ridiculous, in both size and taste. Not sure what the other table had, but it was probably just as good. Next time I'll remember to get up to take pictures, although I do recall at least one salad and I think another chicken parm?
Generous portions of coffee, and then onto dessert. Cripes I can't even name them all, but we ate very well. Beignets, a sea salt caramel thing, chocolate cake, olive oil cake (that's a thing?), a chocolate ball cup thing... tasty, tasty things. And waaay too much sugar, but who's counting?!?
