Honeyboba
A plaza that's normally packed for lunch but deserted for dinner across the street from Costco in Hawthorne now has a massive Honeyboba!
Easily the largest and fanciest of any Honeyboba I've seen, which is saying something as several in 626 are big and fancy. Swallowed the dozen customers they had with ease, you can barely see them as little dots in the pictures. Standard fare otherwise, with very, very sweet drinks; stronglyh suggest you order half sweet to start with or risk instant diabetes.
And the last find of the night, apparently I am slow to discover that Costco now has poke. It's pretty darned good, although it's definitely a SoCal take on poke, which is to say it doesn't hold up to what you get back in Hawaii. Seasonings and garnishes are missing some of the more exotic items, but that's okay, because where else would you expect to see poke sold by the pound at such affordable prices?
