Way more breakfast than we needed, then off to the slopes. Did a few more good runs, then up the gondola up to Cornice. As promised (and yet still unexpected... yeah, I suck), way better snow on Cornice than expected. Hard and fast at the very top, then powder!
Packed up and left afterwards, next stop was Erick Schat's Bakkery in Bishop, then the Yelp-rated #1 restaurant in the USA, Copper Top BBQ in Big Pine. Got to watch Hank work the grill while we waited in line-- pretty impressive the longer you watch him work. Slabs of tri-tip, halves of chicken, and racks of ribs everywhere!
Some friggin' delicious tri-tip, probably the best I've had. Well worth the the wait. Pork ribs were solid too, but not quite as awesome. And the sides were very good-- cole slaw and potato salad were both fancier but still very home-style. Michelle said pickles were in the potato salad; for whatever reason it worked!
