Fooding in SGV
Korean/Chinese food at Yao's Restaurant. Fairly new restaurant that blends the two... not something I was terribly impressed with. Dumplings were a bit thicker skinned but pretty decent, cold noodles, hot noodles, pickled appetizers were just okay. Entirely average, the novelty of mixing Chinese and Korean wasn't as interesting as hoped.
Alhambra's Lunar New Year Festival was right down the street; crazy and messy and overwhelmed. Had it been less overwhelmed it might've been more enjoyable, but any remotely non-crappy prize ($2 McDonald's giftcard!) had a crazy wait. Walked back to Splendid Bakery after for dan tat-- looked good but too much crust hidden below the custard.
Dim sum the next day with Frances, Patrick, and friends at NBC Seafood. Pretty solid as always, and good to catch up with them!
