Superb po boy sandwiches at Little Jewel of New Orleans in Chinatown-- and massive. Perfectly deep fried catfish and shrimp, respectively, plus a rare sightning with Michael Tan!
Quick dan tat at Wonder Bakery too, then off to meet up with Nancy at Mr. Pizza in Japantown.
Next day, some very good Sichuan food at Huolala in Monterey Park with Rick. With only two people it was hard to get more than a handful of dishes, but the green beans and the dan dan noodle were both very good. The dan dan noodle texture wasn't quite my style, but when properly mixed up the blend of heat was perfect. And the twice cooked pork, while veggie heavy, was surprisingly delicious.
Sadly Half and Half was closed, so trekked over to the new Sharetea in Alhambra instead. Not as good as Half and Half, but the taro milk tea was still pretty solid.
