Baby Mason's 1st birthday at Hong Kong Flower Lounge in Milbrae. Another fancy big party, almost as big as his 100 day party (aka red egg and ginger) at Empress of China.
Of course the party is really for the adults, and the food was superb. Cold plate was particularly good, as was the massive (!) chunk of baked sea bass. Can't ignore the abalone or the Beijing duck either, nevermind the lobster... (plus the dim sum carts serving the rest of the restauant kept calling my name too, even if I had to refuse them...)
A 5" smash cake is actually pretty big for a 1-year old, especially a sleepy one who was coming up on nap time by the time the cake came out! Everyone had a great time, with family and friends in abundance!
Headed to Eggetts down the street for the chocolate, honeydew, and original Taiwanese egg waffle desserts, all of which were perfectly crisp, yet soft on the inside. Have to be eaten quick tho, the drive across the San Mateo bridge didn't do them any favors. Board games in the afternoon heat included Cash N Guns (pretty entertaining), more Bling Bling Gemstone, and of course, Exploding Kittens!
Heat fatigue led to mass indecision for dinner, with a stop at Sno-Crave (fancy but merely average milk tea) til we finally dragged our butts to Wingstop and L&L Hawaiian BBQ for wings and macaroni salad. Good times all around!
