Back to Tsujita LA so that Sophia could try their tsukumen. The rest of us tried the ramen, which I don't think any of us had had. The tsukumen is still amazing, the ramen was good, but closer to Shin Sen Gumi Hakata Ramen in quality. Since one can go to Shin Sen Gumi 30 minutes or an hour later for lunch instead of at a (marginally) ridiculously early hour in the morning, honestly, Shin Sen Gumi is probably preferable.
Considering how tasty Shin Sen Gumi Hakata Ramen is, it's still a compliment-- and Tsujita LA still has a ridiculously long line. Show up before 10:40am for best results, anything after that and all bets are off!
Ashley's birthday at Wurstkuche's Venice location followed. Wurstkuche is a tasty, tasty meal of exotic bratwursts and delicious beer, but it's not cheap. During the day it's pretty empty, at night it's much more of a poppin' place. Getting a table for a large group requires a reservation, or some patience combined with a fair bit of luck.
Happy Birthday, Ashley!
