Jesse's Wedding: Day 3
After getting back to Matt and Kelly's place late last night, Randy and I slept in for an extra hour before heading back to MSR Houston with Kelly. 24 Hours of Lemons isn't really 24 hours straight, but it does run for two full days and we wanted to make it there for the rest of the race!
We were also expecting Jesse to call us about dim sum that morning, since we didn't get much of a chance to talk to him or Jen at their wedding. Naturally, ten minutes after showing up at the track, Jesse said "dim sum in an hour!" and it was 45 minutes from the track to Kim Son back in Houston.
Got in a few minutes of race watching, then off to dim sum. Houston's pretty Vietnamese-influenced so the meal was a little different, not to mention just about everyone was running late as hell (and Jesse forgot to invite some people... oops! He assumed they were with us, crap!). Nothing fancy at the meal, but it was very good to actually get to meet Jesse and Jen and their friends in a setting other than the wedding madness!
After lunch, we headed back to MSR Houston, watched Matt and his team get some sort of bizarre penalty (all penalties are bizzare in Lemons!), and then finish the race in 27th place out of 81 or so.
Headed back to Matt and Kelly's after along with the rest of Matt's race team, did some circles on the lawn, and tried to see Ants, Jamie, Al, and the rest could meet up. Sadly the timing didn't work out... Justin was the only one who could make it out. Matt and Kelly BBQ'ed and everyone hung out for a few hours. Good times, and a nice way to wrap things up!
