Hae Jang Chon
Coworkers and I planned all you can eat (AYCE) Korean BBQ at Hae Jang Chon.
Then Mike and I realized we needed to do an 8-mile run that day. Mike realized KBBQ was about 8 miles away. So. Uh. Yeah. We ran there while everyone else drove.
Food was only okay; they had some weird stuff on the menu like ordinary hot dogs (bad) and beef abomasum (normally tasty, but it was kinda too tough here, eww). Bethany ate our entire allocation of kimchi pancakes though, she loved them...
Cooking on a hot stone instead of a cast iron or wire grill was also new and different. Seems like thick cuts cooked slower, while thinner ones cooked about the same. And they cleaned it with shredded radish or something to soak up all the grease, which worked surprisingly well!
5 large Hites later for 6 people (Barnaby, Aleks, Bethany, Albert, Mike, and myself), four of us decided to walk to Boba Bear after for pearl tea. Mike was craving it and he said it got good reviews on Yelp... so we froze our butts walking over and got pearl tea. Actually was reasonably priced and not too bad for K-town pearl tea, and one of their employees is even running the LA Marathon. Cool.
