South Korea/China: Back to Shanghai
Bus to the Shanghai South Railway Station, taxi to the Jing An Hotel (old building), then to the Jade Buddha Temple and other sights. Dinner was at Nepal Kitchen, and the night's activities were at a random smoky bar on Tongren Lu (Tongren Street) where we got to witness firsthand middle-aged businessmen being entertained by swarms of bar girls.
The bus ride was uneventful, aside from being accosted by overpriced drivers trying to get us to our hotel upon arrival. 3x to 4x the cost of a taxi ride by a driver not licensed by the city? No thanks!
Lunch was a little noodle shop near the hotel (yum!) next to a trio of bakeries and a few convenience stores (mmmm tasty), then off to the Jade Buddha Temple.
Dinner and then the random smoky bar concluded things. The Nepalese place seemed pretty good, although it was mostly filled with foreigners. Not sure that's a good thing or not, but we liked food! Turned out to be a long, busy day.
