Stoney Point, take 8
What was a good idea in theory turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. Bill's been fiending to do Pink Drips Wall for a long time, but it turns out the protection at the top is a disaster. A cam or two would help, or slinging some boulders that are pretty damned far from the face itself. Frustrating. Even being buzzed by LA County Fire Department helicopters dropping water on a fire somewhere nearby wasn't enough to keep us amused.
We wandered around that and the top of Stoney for 90 minutes before setting up Hot Tuna (5.10a?). Not too bad but the 5.10c (?) variation we tried crushed us... although for a 10c that should surprise no one.
A week later I properly decided to fix this problem by picking up some 50' lengths of webbing that we're going to need to sling some of the boulders up at Pink Drips. =D
