Grace's birthday, first at Akbar near Beverly Center, then over to a random bar (ended up at PF Chang's) for drinks.
Nice and low-key for the most part. Kevin, Mike, Tara, Carley, Alan and his girlfriend, and I showed up. Food was delicious at Akbar, although Sophia had previously suggested two really good dishes there... but neglected to tell us which two dishes those were. Oops! Tara's chicken tiki masala was really good, and Carley's lamb pepper (masala?) was also yummy. The opening course of naan and three spreads-- one green one, one spicy orange/red one, and a third one were nice and spicy.
We wandered around looking for a bar: Grand Lux Cafe was too crowded for Grace's tastes, and PF Chang's was only a few feet away. They were fairly low-key and quiet, so that worked out pretty well.
Items worth mentioning included Tara trying to describe the layout of her new apartment with silverware as the lines on the diagram, and Grace wondering what the cable attached to the outside of her gift was for...
